Intro, idea and research

I will be using this blog to keep a record of my progress on the final project as well as post research and inspiration.

My idea for the project is to do a short (~30 seconds) mock B movie trailer. Ideally I will create a 3D animation with some elements of Stop Motion.

The "film" the trailer is based on will be a very generic B movie. There will be a handful of human characters reacting to the news of a creature invading their planet. 

For the human characters I looked at Ed Wood's films, as they have some of the most brilliantly terrible acting I could think of. Here are a few examples:

Not a horror, but never the less a brilliant film with some amazingly bad acting by the man himself.

For the invading creature I would like to create a Ray Harryhausen style stop motion character. Here are some examples of Harryhausen's amazing work:

I think the creature from 20 Million Miles to Earth and the whole film really, is pretty close to the idea I have for my animation.
